Everybody wants clear skin. Not only does it give us confidence, but it is also a sign of a healthy body. But some external factors can cause acne, scars, and even pigmentation (jhaiya).
If we talk about Jhaiya or hyperpigmentation, it is a common skin disorder that causes dark patches or spots on the skin. People spend thousands of rupees on its treatment. Even though it can easily be treated with medical care, you can also treat it naturally.
The following article focuses on some of the best home remedies for jhaiya so that you can get an even skin tone.
What Causes Jhaiya?
Pigmentation refers to the formation of melanin within your skin. It helps in protecting the skin from the harmful UV and UVB rays of the sun, preventing any cancer. But melanin is also responsible for darkening the skin.
Hyperpigmentation or melasma (type of Hyperpigmentation) is caused by several factors, like the following:
Melanin is said to be the sun’s natural sunscreen as it protects the skin from harmful sun rays. But when people are exposed to the sun to a higher degree, melanin gets disrupted, leading to hyperpigmentation.
The sun’s UV and YVB rays cause oxidative stress that causes skin aging and hyperpigmentation.
When hyperpigmentation is triggered by hormones, the skin condition is known as Melasma. It is more common with females.
It occurs when estrogen and progesterone cause the overproduction of melanin.
You might also notice hyperpigmentation during pregnancy.
With age, the production of melanin gets disrupted, causing pigmentation. It may even last longer once you are above 40 years of age.
Home Remedies to Treat Jhaiya
If the pigmentation is in its infancy, you can treat it with the help of home remedies. The following are some of the best home treatments for jhaiya:
Aloe vera is a highly celebrated ingredient in the beauty and skincare industry.

You can also soak some green tea leaves in cool water. Once the leaves are steeped, strain them and apply the liquid to your face with a cotton ball. Wash it off with cold water.
Vitamin C helps the skin in reducing the formation of melanin while promoting the production of more collagen. This helps in the preventing or treatment of dark spots or pigmentation.
Moreover, as Vitamin C is a natural acid, it can bleach your skin without leaving any scars. As it is an antioxidant, it can help your skin cells replace the damaged ones with new ones, giving you a natural glow.
