1. Milk


The anti-inflammatory and soothing properties of milk can help you relieve dry skin. It keeps your skin moisturized all day long, and the lactic acid in it helps exfoliate the dead skin cells. You can use cold raw milk, which is the best for dry skin as it works as a hydrating agent and has vitamins, protein, and lactic acid.

Cucumber also helps hydrate your skin and soothes itchiness because of its cooling effect. To use milk with Multani mitti, you can add 1 tbsp each of milk and cucumber juice to 2 tbsp Multani mitti and apply the paste to your skin. Wash your face after 15 to 20 minutes.

You can also make a mask of 1 tsp Multani mitti, adding 2 tsp milk and 1 tsp orange peel powder. Orange, a rich calcium source, may help you remove dead skin cells. And the presence of Vitamin C in it is beneficial for healthy skin.


2. Honey


Do you know what Humectant is? A humectant is a substance used to retain and preserve moisture. And honey has natural Humectant, which helps seal the moisture and soften your skin. Honey also has antibacterial and antiseptic properties to heal breakouts and itchiness.

To use it with Multani mitti, you can simply add a few drops of honey to the required amount of Multani mitti and leave it on your skin for around 15 minutes. Or, mix 2 tsp of honey and Multani mitti and 3 tsp coffee powder. Rub the paste for at least 5 minutes on your skin and wash away with lukewarm water. Coffee will also help moisturize and soften your skin. You can repeat it once a week.

Instead, you can add a few drops of lemon juice to 2 tbsp Multani mitti, 1 tbsp curd, and some honey. Lemon can help clarify skin, and curd will work the same as milk, as mentioned in the first point. Leave this pack on the face for 15 minutes and rinse off with cold water.


3. Rosewater


Rosewater has a natural hydrating agent that can nourish and moisturize your skin. It also helps balance the oil production and works as a toner. To make a paste of it with Multani mitti, you can paste an equal amount of both rose water and Multani mitti. Gently apply it to your face and wash it away in around 20 minutes.

Also, you can apply a paste by mixing 2 tsp mashed cucumber, 3 to 4 tsp Multani mitti, and 1 tsp rose water. Let it dry and as soon as it dries off, wash your face with warm water.


4. Papaya

Papaya has potassium, which helps hydrate dull and dry skin. Also, it has various other vitamins and minerals, which are beneficial for your skin. It promotes healthy skin by exfoliating and treating acne and breakouts.

Add papaya pulp and some honey to Multani mitti powder to form a smooth paste. Let it dry on your skin, and then wash and pat dry.


5. Sandalwood


Sandalwood has antioxidants, which help maintain the skin cell structure. And also replenish moisture, reducing dryness and increasing elasticity. The anti-inflammatory properties of it help treat breakouts and irritations.

To make a hydrating sandalwood mask, add a pinch of sandalwood to 1 tbsp Multani mitti powder and some fresh cream/ malai. Apply the paste to your skin and wash in a gap of 15 mins and pat dry. You can also use sandalwood oil instead of powder.

Or, mix 1/2 tsp of Multani mitti and sandalwood powder and 1 tsp yogurt. Let the paste dry on your skin and rinse off in 8 to 10 minutes. You can apply it twice or thrice a week.


6. Neem


Neem heals damaged and dry skin as it has all the essential fatty acids for your skin. Also, it has Vitamin E and antiseptic properties, which help skin fight bacteria and infections. You can use both raw neem leaf and powdered form to make a face mask for your dry skin.

Blend 1 tbsp each of neem powder and Multani mitti, and add some rosewater according to its consistency to form a smooth paste. Apply the paste gently to the affected areas or the whole face and wash away as soon as it dries. You can also use 2 tbsp honey instead of rosewater.

Or use neem oil by mixing 2 tsp Multani mitti with 1/2 tsp turmeric powder and 1/2 tsp neem oil. Remove the pack from your skin after 15 minutes and after washing your face, apply moisturizer or cream.


7. Almond


The emollient properties of almonds are an excellent source for dry skin. It also helps treat severely dry skin conditions like eczema and psoriasis. For making a paste of Multani mitti and almond, you can use either raw crushed almond, almond oil, or almond milk.

Take 2 tbsp each of Multani mitti and milk and add some almond paste to make a fine paste. Mix them well and apply them to your dry skin. It will also improve blood circulation and will work as an exfoliant. Wash your face within 15 minutes.

Instead, you can crush around five soaked almonds or use some almond milk and mix it with 2 tsp Multani mitti and 3 tsp granulated sugar. This pack will work as a natural scrubber to exfoliate dead skin cells. You can apply it all over the body.


8. Banana

To apply banana to your skin with Multani mitti, mash a ripe banana with some rosewater and 1 tbsp Multani mitti. You can use it once a week to maintain your skin’s softness and hydration. Gently wash your ways when you feel the pack at the semi-dry stage.


9. Vitamin E

Instead, you can make another pack using 1/2 a small potato, 5 ml Vitamin E oil, required water, and 1 tbsp Multani mitti. Grind them all and apply them to your skin. Wash your face using lukewarm water and repeat it once a week until you get soft and hydrated skin.


10. Avocado


Avocado is a rich source of biotin, which helps fortify dry skin. It also produces fatty acids in the skin to nourish deep within and balance natural oil production. Avocado’s anti-inflammatory properties and minerals may also help you protect your skin from sun damage and treat itchiness caused due to dryness. It is good to keep your skin, hair, and nails healthy.

To apply it to your skin, take half of the ripe avocado and mash it with 3 tbsp Multani mitti and a half tbsp shea butter. You can add some milk to the paste to get the required consistency. And then leave the pack on your skin for around 10 minutes.
